The name Gary Lucas has been linked to some of the most important names in music history, from Lou Reed to Captain Beefheart and Nick Cave.

Gary Lucas has been called ‘one of the best and most original guitarists in America’ by Rolling Stone, and ‘the thinking person’s guitar hero’ by The New Yorker.

The New York City-based guitarist cut his teeth as a featured soloist with Captain Beefheart and co-wrote the classic songs Grace and Mojo Pin with his late friend and partner Jeff Buckley.

His solo concerts are epic affairs: a staggering range of virtuosic acoustic and electric guitar played on his 1941 Gibson J-45 and ’66 Strat, encompassing blues, folk, electronica, rock, film music, 30’s Chinese pop, classical, jazz and world genres.

He has released over 50 albums, and toured in 40 plus countries, working with artists like Lou Reed, John Cale, Leonard Bernstein, Nona Hendryx, Nick Cave, Bob Neuwirth, Chris Cornell, Bob Weir, Joan Osborne, Dr. John, John Zorn and Allen Ginsberg, among others.

Gary will be joined by special guest Ellen Lyons.
